The Court Blocks the COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate for Federal Contractors

On December 7, 2021, the federal judge in the Southern District of Georgia blocked Executive Order 14042 (September 9, 2021), which required certain federal contractors to ensure that their employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The court stated, "even in times of crisis this Court must preserve the rule of law and ensure that all branches of government act within the bounds of their constitutionally granted authorities."

Following the court order, the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force stated that "[t]he Government will take no action to enforce the clause implementing requirements of Executive Order 14042."
